Key Responsibilities:

  • Clinical Duties:
    • Conduct thorough patient assessments, including health histories and vital signs.
    • Assist urologists with examinations, procedures, and patient education.
    • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, monitoring patients for side effects and responses.
    • Provide wound care, catheterization, and other urological procedures as needed.
    • Educate patients and their families about urological conditions, treatment options, and post-operative care.
    • Document patient interactions and care in the electronic health record (EHR) accurately and timely.
  • Administrative Duties:
    • Schedule patient appointments and manage the patient flow within the clinic.
    • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with health regulations.
    • Coordinate communication between patients, physicians, and other healthcare providers.
    • Assist with insurance verification and patient billing inquiries.
    • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain standards of practice.
    • Help manage inventory and order supplies for the practice as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Current and valid RN license in NY.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; an associate degree in nursing (ADN) may be considered.
  • Previous experience in urology or a similar outpatient setting is a plus.
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting and moving patients.
  • Must be able to respond quickly to patient needs in a fast-paced environment.
