Urology Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to provide high-quality patient care in our outpatient urology practice. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, administrative acumen, and a commitment to delivering exceptional patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Duties:
Conduct thorough patient assessments, including health histories and vital signs, to ensure accurate diagnoses and effective treatment plans.
Assist urologists with examinations, procedures, and patient education to promote informed decision-making and optimal patient care.
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, monitoring patients for side effects and responses to ensure safe and effective care.
Provide wound care, catheterization, and other urological procedures as needed to address patient needs.
Educate patients and their families about urological conditions, treatment options, and post-operative care to promote patient empowerment and self-management.
Document patient interactions and care in the electronic health record (EHR) accurately and timely to ensure seamless communication and collaboration among healthcare providers.
Administrative Duties:
Schedule patient appointments and manage the patient flow within the clinic to ensure efficient and effective care delivery.
Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with health regulations to protect patient confidentiality and promote quality care.
Coordinate communication between patients, physicians, and other healthcare providers to facilitate timely and effective care.
Assist with insurance verification and patient billing inquiries to ensure seamless financial transactions and minimize delays.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain standards of practice to promote continuous learning and improvement.
Help manage inventory and order supplies for the practice as needed to ensure efficient and effective care delivery.
Qualifications:
Current and valid RN license in NY.
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; an associate degree in nursing (ADN) may be considered.
Previous experience in urology or a similar outpatient setting is a plus.
Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems.
Ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team to promote seamless care delivery and patient satisfaction.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting and moving patients.
Must be able to respond quickly to patient needs in a fast-paced environment.
