We are seeking a highly skilled Bridge Engineer to join our team at T.Y. Lin International. As a Bridge Engineer, you will be responsible for performing engineering calculations, analysis, and design of concrete and steel bridge structures and elements.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform engineering calculations, analysis, and design of bridge structures and elements under the supervision of Senior Bridge Engineers.
  • Prepare plans, specifications, and estimates in accordance with applicable design codes under the supervision of Senior Bridge Engineers.
  • Conduct independent quality control and quality assurance reviews under the supervision of Senior Bridge Engineers.
  • Perform quantity take-offs for development of engineering estimates.
  • Prepare drawings, calculations, and designs in accordance with company production and design standards, and follow Quality Assurance and Control procedures.
Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
  • Professional Engineering license in the Province of British Columbia.
  • 5+ years of professional experience.
  • Experience with structural analysis and design of steel and concrete bridges and elements.
  • Experience in preparing engineering calculations, structural drawings, details, and ability to prepare specifications.
  • Strong technical skills in structural analysis, including seismic analysis, and design of various types of bridge structures.
  • Ability to work as part of a team to provide deliverables and meet deadlines.
  • Working knowledge of design codes such as CAN/CSA S6, AASHTO, ACI, CISC, etc.
  • Ability to provide quality control/quality assurance to ensure deliverables are of high quality and on time.
  • Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, and engineering analysis and design software.
  • Knowledge of SOFiSTiK is an asset.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and/or MicroStation is an asset.
  • Ability to clearly communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Must possess communication and interpersonal skills necessary for effective project team collaboration and relationship building.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Client-focused, always striving to give clients the best solutions.
  • Strong commitment to innovation by creating new and better ways to solve clients' toughest challenges.
  • High levels of integrity, always doing the right thing in an ethical, fair, and sustainable way.
