We are seeking a highly skilled Bridge Engineer to join our team at T.Y. Lin International. As a Bridge Engineer, you will be responsible for performing engineering calculations, analysis, and design of concrete and steel bridge structures and elements.
Responsibilities:- Perform engineering calculations, analysis, and design of bridge structures and elements under the supervision of Senior Bridge Engineers.
- Prepare plans, specifications, and estimates in accordance with applicable design codes under the supervision of Senior Bridge Engineers.
- Conduct independent quality control and quality assurance reviews under the supervision of Senior Bridge Engineers.
- Perform quantity take-offs for development of engineering estimates.
- Prepare drawings, calculations, and designs in accordance with company production and design standards, and follow Quality Assurance and Control procedures.
- Master's Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.
- Professional Engineering license in the Province of British Columbia.
- 5+ years of professional experience.
- Experience with structural analysis and design of steel and concrete bridges and elements.
- Experience in preparing engineering calculations, structural drawings, details, and ability to prepare specifications.
- Strong technical skills in structural analysis, including seismic analysis, and design of various types of bridge structures.
- Ability to work as part of a team to provide deliverables and meet deadlines.
- Working knowledge of design codes such as CAN/CSA S6, AASHTO, ACI, CISC, etc.
- Ability to provide quality control/quality assurance to ensure deliverables are of high quality and on time.
- Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, and engineering analysis and design software.
- Knowledge of SOFiSTiK is an asset.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD and/or MicroStation is an asset.
- Ability to clearly communicate verbally and in writing.
- Must possess communication and interpersonal skills necessary for effective project team collaboration and relationship building.
- Excellent organizational skills.
