We are seeking a highly skilled Industrial Safety Specialist to join our team at the Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory. As a key member of our Occupational Safety and Health Division, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our laboratory personnel and visitors.
Key Responsibilities- Provide technical support and consultation to various departments and teams on safety-related matters.
- Conduct hazard identification and risk assessments to develop effective controls and mitigation strategies.
- Assist in the development and implementation of safety policies, procedures, and training programs.
- Participate in incident reviews and investigations to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with department managers and supervisors to review safety performance data and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Manage assigned safety programs, including permit-required confined spaces, powered industrial vehicles, and hot work.
- Conduct physical inspections of work areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as occupational safety, science, or engineering.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in occupational safety and health, preferably in a laboratory or industrial setting.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA, DOE, and other relevant regulations and standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google applications.
