Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Industrial Safety Specialist to join our team at the Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory. As a key member of our Occupational Safety and Health Division, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our laboratory personnel and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support and consultation to various departments and teams on safety-related matters.
  • Conduct hazard identification and risk assessments to develop effective controls and mitigation strategies.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of safety policies, procedures, and training programs.
  • Participate in incident reviews and investigations to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with department managers and supervisors to review safety performance data and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Manage assigned safety programs, including permit-required confined spaces, powered industrial vehicles, and hot work.
  • Conduct physical inspections of work areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as occupational safety, science, or engineering.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in occupational safety and health, preferably in a laboratory or industrial setting.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, DOE, and other relevant regulations and standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google applications.
