Princeton University is seeking a highly skilled Senior Campus Safety Specialist to join our Environmental Health and Safety team. As a key member of our team, you will assist in the development and implementation of occupational health and safety programs, providing technical support and guidance to University departments and personnel.



This role is ideal for an individual with a strong background in occupational safety, public health, or a related field, and experience in providing safety services in a university or workplace setting. The successful candidate will be responsible for:



Key Responsibilities:


  • Assisting with the development and implementation of occupational health and safety programs, including confined space entry, electrical safety, construction safety, fall protection, and hand and portable power tool safety.
  • Acting as the primary safety liaison for certain campus partner departments, including answering initial inquiries and serving on departmental safety committees.
  • Conducting health and safety surveys, identifying areas for improvement, and developing recommendations for corrective action.
  • Providing a high level of customer service to the entire campus community, including responding to incidents and injuries.
  • Supporting industrial hygiene and environmental health programs as needed.


Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess a B.S. in occupational safety, public health, or a related field, and have 2-4 years of experience providing safety services in a university or workplace setting. A valid driver's license, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a team environment are also required.



In addition to the essential qualifications, the successful candidate will have experience in creating and maintaining electronic media, such as web pages and online training resources. A Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) certification is also preferred.
