Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Treatment Specialist to join our team at Wedgwood Christian Services. As a key member of our residential treatment program, you will play a vital role in providing daily care, counsel, and supervision to adolescents in our care.

Responsibilities
  • Create a therapeutic milieu that fosters warmth, empathy, and respect for all residents.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate client treatment programs, facilitating and supporting all programs, including therapy, employment training, activities, school, and transportation.
  • Observe and monitor client behaviors, holding residents accountable using established agency interventions, and serving as a teacher, supporter, and role model in daily interactions.
  • Utilize non-violent, physical crisis intervention techniques (Aegis) to manage residents who are in danger of harming themselves or others, including completing required reports.
  • Provide a stable, positive role model for residents, assuming an authoritative role while maintaining a primary helping relationship.
  • Respect the diversity of our residents, understanding their needs and feelings, regardless of race, social, ethnic, or religious background.
  • Oversee the general health and wellness of clients, including assisting with meals, physical activities, clothing/personal hygiene supplies, medical, dental, vision, and hygiene care, providing first aid or CPR as required, and scheduling appointments as assigned.
  • Transport residents to scheduled appointments, activities, work, meetings, and other events as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports of all activities carried out in the management of the residential program.
  • Support the maintenance of a clean, orderly home, supervising and participating with residents in completing assigned duties and meeting defined housekeeping standards.
  • Report all personal and physical property damage to appropriate administrative personnel using established reports and procedures.
  • Regularly participate in supervision meetings and team meetings for the sharing of ideas, feedback, and department planning, seeking and soliciting feedback, and providing feedback to the Supervisor for staff evaluations.
  • Ensure timely Quality Assurance compliance as related to employee roles and functions.
  • Observe professional confidentiality at all times, protecting the rights of residents and their families, and abiding by the guidelines of the agency Confidentiality Policy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, coordinated with the home supervisor, assistant supervisor, or shift supervisor.
Qualifications
  • English speaking required; Spanish speaking highly preferred.
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent required; additional education and/or certification in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field preferred.
  • Prior experience supervising adolescents with emotional/behavioral disorders preferred.
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Federally funded program requiring specific vaccinations, including Varicella, MMR, DTaP, Influenza, and COVID-19.
  • Subscription to the Statement of Faith of Wedgwood Christian Services and agreement with the goal, purpose, and objectives of the agency.
