Job Summary

Bienville Orthopaedic Specialist LLC is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Surgical Technologist to join our team. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our operating rooms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare the operating room by setting up surgical instruments and equipment, sterile drapes, and sterile solutions.
  • Assemble and adjust both sterile and non-sterile equipment to ensure proper function.
  • Prepare patients for surgery by washing, shaving, and disinfecting incision sites.
  • Transport patients to the operating room and assist with positioning them on the operating table.
  • Pass instruments and sterile supplies to surgeons and surgeon assistants during surgery.
  • Monitor patient vital signs and assist with specimen preparation and disposal.
  • Operate sterilizers, lights, and suction machines as needed.
  • Assist with transferring patients to the recovery room after surgery and clean and restock the operating room.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Surgical technologist certification from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum one year of experience in a multispecialty surgical unit, preferably in a clinic setting.
  • Knowledge of biology, chemistry, and mathematics.
  • Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, microbiology, pharmacology, professional ethics, and medical terminology.
  • Ability to respond quickly and remain emotionally stable in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to lift and move equipment and supplies up to 50 pounds.
Working Conditions

The Surgical Technologist will work primarily in the operating room setting, with frequent contact with diverse individuals. The role may involve exposure to infection, bodily fluids, and sharp instruments, as well as unpleasant sights, odors, and materials.

The ideal candidate will be able to stand for long periods, remain alert during operations, and demonstrate excellent communication and teamwork skills.
