Job Title: Psychotherapist

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Psychotherapist to join our team at Brown University's Counseling and Psychological Services. As a Psychotherapist, you will provide culturally-informed counseling, assessment, crisis intervention, and referral services to university students. You will also participate in psychoeducational and community building efforts that address students' needs, and consult with faculty and staff regarding student concerns.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individual and group counseling services to students, including assessment, diagnosis, and treatment planning.
  • Develop and implement culturally sensitive and trauma-informed counseling programs and services.
  • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and community partners to promote student well-being and success.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with best practices in counseling and mental health.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to counseling services.

Requirements:

  • Counseling credential/license (PhD/PsyD, MSW, or MA/MS in Counseling or related field).
  • Exceptional skills in working with diverse students, a diverse counseling staff, and demonstrated commitment to social justice.
  • Ability to work with a team; excellent verbal and written communication skills with peers as well as clients.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a university counseling center.
  • Multilingual counseling skills.
  • Experience and comfort with the provision of care via teletherapy.
  • Experience with trauma-informed care.
  • Experience with shorter counseling sessions and brief clinical approaches.
