Job Summary
The Senior Benefits Accountant is a key member of the Vontier team, responsible for the administration and accounting for payroll and employee benefits. This role involves ensuring that all financial transactions related to payroll and benefits are accurately recorded, reconciled, and reported.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the accounting and financial reporting for payroll and employee benefit plans, including equity compensation plans, health insurance, retirement plans, life insurance, disability insurance, and other ancillary benefits.
- Reconcile payroll and benefits-related accounts and prepare journal entries for monthly close processes.
- Ensure the accurate and timely payment of benefits invoices and the proper allocation of costs.
- Assist in the preparation of financial analysis and budget/forecasts related to employee benefits.
- Prepare valuations for new equity compensation grants.
- Review stock issuance transactions on a monthly basis for accuracy and prepare quarterly/annual summaries for external auditors.
- Prepare 10-K & 10-Q disclosures related to Pensions and Stock Based Compensation including all supporting workings.
- Support annual employee benefit plan audit through preparation and/or review of Forms 5500 and 11-K.
- Manage relationships with several external vendors applicable to the benefits accounting division.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and accounting standards pertaining to benefits accounting.
- Work with internal and external auditors to provide necessary documentation and explanations for annual audits.
Requirements
- You are highly motivated, results-oriented, and able to perform independently in a fast-moving environment. Strong interpersonal skills and a desire to be a team player are central to who you are.
- A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience required, with specific experience in benefits accounting highly preferred.
- Experience with Form 5500 and 11-K reporting required.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and standards, especially as they relate to benefits accounting.
- Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and Access required.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in preparing and entering financial information.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments and with various levels of management.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- CPA or equivalent professional accounting qualification is desirable.

The base compensation range for this position is $79,300 to $100,600 per year. Your actual base salary will be determined based upon a number of factors which may include relevant experience, skills, location (labor market data), credentials (education, certifications), and internal equity.
