About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Assistant Manager to join our team at Bridgestreethuntsville. As an Assistant Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the Shop Manager in all business areas, including sales, customer experience, team leadership, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales & Customer Experience:
    • Collaborate with the team to exceed daily sales goals and ensure a unique and inclusive customer experience.
    • Educate customers and staff on our brand values and articulate our position on key issues.
    • Develop product knowledge and make informed recommendations to customers.
    • Drive sales through strong business acumen and understanding of metrics, budgets, and reports.
  • Team Leadership:
    • Lead by example and support the team on the sales floor, answering questions, removing obstacles, and motivating them to meet sales goals.
    • Grow talent and elevate skills through constant learning and development, coaching, and leading by example.
    • Be adaptable and responsive to the needs of the business and team.
    • Recruit and select top-performing staff and support their development through training and coaching.
  • Operational Excellence:
    • Support the Shop Manager in maintaining a compliant shop and ensuring staff adhere to company standards.
    • Manage inventory and ordering to ensure the right products are in stock at the right time.
    • Develop and maintain a clean and beautiful work environment and follow merchandising and design standards.
    • Schedule staff effectively to meet peak periods and ensure breaks and meals are allocated and recorded accurately.

Requirements:

  • 1-3 years of managing or supervising in a retail environment.
  • Excellent listening and communication skills.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Suite.
  • Strong customer service, supervisory, and sales skills.
  • Knowledge and interest in skincare, natural beauty, and ethical business.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including holidays, evenings, and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with consultation-based customer service models.
  • Ability to develop and train staff through positive coaching and feedback.
  • Basic HR skills in hiring, scheduling, training, and performance management.
  • Experience in cross-cultural collaboration and DEIB or social justice training.
  • Fluency in Spanish, French, or other languages.
