About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Health Information Specialist II to join our team at Datavant. As a key member of our data logistics team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and security of patient health information.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process medical record requests in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring accuracy and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of patient health information at all times.
  • Train and assist junior staff members in the Health Information Specialist I position.
  • Generate reports for management and provide data insights to inform business decisions.
  • Participate in project teams and committees to advance operational strategies and initiatives.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1 year of experience in Health Information related field.
  • Basic computer proficiency and ability to work with electronic health records.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a production/metric-based work environment.
  • In-person customer service experience.
  • Ability to build relationships with on-site clients and customers.
Working Conditions

This role requires the ability to work in an office environment with minimal exposure to unpleasant and/or hazardous working conditions. The incumbent must be able to stand and sit frequently throughout an eight-hour period, reach horizontally and vertically for overhead use, and lift 20 pounds.
