About the Role:
This role will involve working closely with our team to develop stable and manufacturable optomechanical systems and components for laser processing tools. Your expertise in modeling, prototyping, evaluating, and characterizing optical elements and mounting strategies will be crucial in driving our next-generation optical systems forward. You'll also have the opportunity to collaborate with external vendors and work on projects that align with your interests and skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and develop high-precision optomechanical systems and components for laser processing tools
  • Work with fabricators to achieve economical designs using DFM principles
  • Collaborate with external vendors to integrate off-the-shelf hardware with custom-designed components
  • Conduct root cause analysis of test failures and production issues to improve performance

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with 10+ years of applicable experience
  • Strong CAD modeling proficiency (preferably Solidworks)
  • Experience with GD&T principles and standards, as well as tolerance stackup analysis
  • Proficiency with engineering properties of materials and structural members
