About the Role

The Speech Language Pathologist will be responsible for providing therapeutic techniques for the rehabilitation of patients with speech, language, hearing, oral motor, swallowing, and cognitive disorders. This role requires coordinated care to patients of all age groups, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans to restore or maintain patient well-being. The ideal candidate will participate in the coordination of care and communicate effectively with patients, representatives, and caregivers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform ongoing clinical assessments, including OASIS assessments at appropriate time points, to identify patient needs and determine level of functioning.
  • Develop and evaluate patient care plans in partnership with patients, representatives, and caregivers.
  • Coordinate care and document coordination with physicians and other healthcare clinicians involved in patient care as needed.
  • Provide therapeutic treatments for speech, language, cognitive, and swallowing disorders with appropriate tests and measurements.
  • Document clinical notes, phone orders, and other clinical record documentation on an ongoing basis and in a timely manner.
  • Apply concepts of infection control and universal precautions in coordinating or performing patient care activities to prevent contamination and transmission of disease.
  • Accept clinical assignments consistent with education and competence to care for patients.

Estimated Salary Range: $85,000 - $110,000 per year

Qualifications

Master's or Doctoral Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited college or university. Current State License in Speech-Language Pathology or meets requirements listed in 42 CFR §484.115(n). Prefer one year experience in an acute care, rehabilitation setting, or home health. Proof of current CPR and reliable transportation required.
