Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and provide pre-vocational training and support to consumers with disabilities in a facility-based employment setting
  • Complete comprehensive assessments, individual support plans, and daily service plan follow-up
  • Utilize job coaching strategies to instruct individuals on proper work habits and help them develop work skills through light assembly and packaging tasks for local businesses
  • Ensure all consumers are treated with respect and dignity, recognizing individual needs and encouraging independence
  • Supervise, evaluate, and coordinate activities of subordinates
  • Perform training and modeling of employability practices
  • Advise consumers on how to develop their vocational and educational objectives
  • Implement plans developed by and with interdisciplinary teams and other professionals
  • Provide general supervision and guidance to consumers
  • Administer medications under the direction of a physician
  • Consult with supervisor concerning program plans for consumers
  • Assist consumers with participation in life enrichment activities
  • Assist with personal care for consumers as needed
  • Explain organization policies and procedures to consumers and their stakeholders
  • Submit and review reports with supervisor
  • Chart consumer habilitation programs and maintain accurate and complete consumer file information
  • Implement approved emergency procedures in the event of a fire, tornado, or other natural disasters
  • Role model appropriate behaviors for consumers

Requirements:

  • One year's experience performing similar functions in a similar organization
  • Must be at least 19 years of age
  • Completion of High School Diploma or GED
  • Possess a valid driver's license and current auto insurance
  • Pass all background checks: criminal, DMV, dependent adult, and child abuse registry
  • Compassionate and patient demeanor
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
  • Ability to adapt to changing needs and priorities
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent in-person and electronic communication skills and interpersonal skills
