Job Title: Resident Pharmacist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Resident Pharmacist to join our team at Value Apothecaries Inc. As a key member of our oncology pharmacy team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest level of patient care and safety while adhering to regulatory guidelines and company standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Interpret prescriptions and compound and dispense medications in accordance with professional standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Supervise pharmacy technicians and provide patient consultations to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure quality of compounded preparations and compliance with regulatory and best practices.
  • Participate in regulatory body surveys and field questions related to compounding and pharmacy operations.
  • Assist in the fiscal management of the oncology pharmacy to optimize profits and control expenses.
  • Manage oncology pharmacy technicians, including hiring, training, terminating, and performance management.
  • Monitor the overall performance of oncology pharmacy staff members to ensure compliance with regulatory and organizational policies.
  • Develop and maintain established procedures concerning compounding, order sets, operational workflows, quality improvement, quality assurance, security of controlled substances, and record keeping.
  • Oversee medication procurement, inventory controls, shortage management, and formulary processes within the outpatient oncology setting.
  • Collaborate with Pharmacy Leadership to ensure regulatory compliance with regards to the 340b program.
  • Perform prescription verification and provide technical guidance to pharmacy technicians.
  • Provide consultation on pharmacy and therapeutic matters to various levels of organizational personnel.
  • Complete staff schedules for pharmacy technicians and adjust scheduling as necessary to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Participate in departmental meetings, committees, and in-service training for outpatient oncology services.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's of Science Degree or Pharm D degree from an accredited School of Pharmacy.
  • Current, unrestricted pharmacist license through the appropriate state board of pharmacy.
  • Broad training and/or experience in business administration, sales, marketing, information technology, and retail/ambulatory pharmacy.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Familiarity with pharmaceutical products, services, and drug interactions.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
