Reporting Structure: Manager – Parts and Service

Compensation: Hourly/Non-Exempt


We are in search of a Parts Sales Associate for our operations who can effectively collaborate within a team environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational and communication skills to proficiently serve our customer base.

This role entails assisting with Parts Sales and managing the procurement and inventory of repair components and resale products. We seek a driven individual with a background in construction and industrial machinery. Familiarity with hydraulics, electronics, and both gas and diesel equipment is advantageous.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Maintain a comprehensive vendor reference database
  • Evaluate Parts Request Forms for completeness and authorized signatures
  • Order parts and merchandise promptly after conducting research for optimal pricing and delivery timelines based on customer requirements
  • Manage Purchase Orders, including pricing and status updates
  • Conduct follow-up communications as necessary with customers
  • Assess stocking needs based on Purchase Order history and anticipated future demands
  • Ensure adequate stock levels to meet expected requirements without excessive overstocking
  • Provide technical assistance to all Global Machinery locations, including item number creation, purchase history, pricing, availability, product location, and necessary product knowledge
  • Engage in professional and accurate communication with vendors and all levels of Global Machinery personnel
  • Receive purchase orders and transfer parts and merchandise to designated locations
  • Handle returns of incorrect materials
  • Assist in warehouse operations as needed, including all responsibilities associated with Warehouse Personnel
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace
  • Adhere to all Global Machinery policies, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment
  • Ensure a safe working environment at all times
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors or Global Machinery management

Education, Experience, and Required Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid California driver's license
  • 1-2 years of experience in equipment repair, parts purchasing, or warehouse operations

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

  • Some tasks performed in a warehouse setting requiring the use of carts, hand trucks, pallet jacks, and/or forklifts
  • Occasional lifting of 25 to 120 lbs.
  • Ability to walk and stand on concrete surfaces for a minimum of four hours daily
  • Exposure to bright lights, extreme temperatures, loud noises, dust, gases, and/or fumes
