Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Clerk Senior to join our team at Pinal County, AZ. As a Deputy Clerk Senior, you will be responsible for performing complex and sensitive work in assisting customers, processing court documents and files, and performing advanced clerical and record-keeping duties in the Clerk of the Superior Court's Office.

Key Responsibilities
  • Respond to complex questions and/or resolve process issues from court personnel, attorneys, judges, and the public in person, electronically, or in the courtroom.
  • Assist customers, attorneys, county, and government agencies with obtaining case information in person, electronically, or in the courtroom.
  • Perform advanced clerical work on complex court filings and process that require a higher degree of accuracy and sensitivity in person, electronically or in the courtroom.
  • Lead, train and mentor clerks in performing clerical duties for area of assignment.
  • Summarize data and prepare monthly/quarterly reports within the department.
  • Conduct complex process and legal research for area of assignment.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert regarding requirements for accepting and processing all case type filings for area of assignment.
  • Audit and ensure the proper maintenance of digital and physical files.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert in receiving, processing, certifying and/or issuing court documents including protective orders, jail releases, warrants, conditions of release, confinement orders and confidential orders.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert and maintain knowledge of, and adhere to, Rules of Civil and Criminal Procedure, Arizona Rules of Family Law Procedure, and Local Rules for Pinal County.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Three (3) years progressively responsible experience as a Deputy Clerk of the Superior Court or equivalent court service related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Valid Arizona State Driver's License.
  • Court experience preferred.
