Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Campus Police Officer to join our team at Florida State College at Jacksonville. As a Campus Police Officer, you will be responsible for providing public safety services and ensuring a safe and secure environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular patrols of college campuses and centers to identify and mitigate potential security risks.
  • Respond to emergency calls and investigate incidents, including crimes, disturbances, and medical emergencies.
  • Enforce laws and regulations, make arrests, and apprehend individuals as necessary.
  • Take initial police reports, conduct preliminary investigations, and collect and preserve evidence.
  • Perform security checks of buildings and concourses, lock and unlock buildings, and provide parking and traffic enforcement.
  • Provide safety escort services for members of the college community and bank deposits.
  • Educate and counsel students, staff, and visitors on crime prevention techniques and proper safety practices.
  • Administer first aid and maintain current first responder certifications.
  • Assist other law enforcement agencies, fire department, and emergency medical technicians.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or high school equivalency (GED), supplemented by two (2) years of related experience in law enforcement.
  • Florida law enforcement certification as established in Florida Statutes Chapter 943.13, officer's minimum qualifications for employment or appointment.
  • Valid Florida Driver's License.
