  • Observe, assess, and record patient symptoms, reactions, and progress; assist physicians during treatments and examinations; administer medication and prescribed treatments, complete admissions and discharges, and promote convalescence and rehabilitation.
  • Assess patients' conditions for potential or life-threatening crises and distinguish between normal and abnormal physical findings; initiate life-saving measures in the absence of a physician.
  • Operate emergency equipment, including defibrillators, EKG machines, and cardiac monitors, as determined by the medical facility, unit, or clinic.
  • React with alertness and skill in emergency situations, such as cardiac or respiratory arrest, hemorrhage, shock, severe physical trauma, and psychiatric reactions; initiate life-saving measures in the absence of a physician, depending on position and protocol.
  • Document all patient care given and patient progress using the SAMMC documentation standards in the patient's medical record.

Requirements
  • Must have one (1) year or more of full-time LVN experience within the last 3 years.
  • Must be able to pass a background check for government clearance.
  • Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing by the National League of Nursing.
  • Must hold a valid Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN/LPN) nursing license from any US jurisdiction.
  • Must hold Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
