**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Vocational Nurse to join our team at Nexus Health Systems. As a Licensed Vocational Nurse, you will provide direct nursing care to patients under the supervision of the Nurse Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

Ensure that the scope of duties and services provided are consistent and within the guidelines of the state nursing practice act

Demonstrate knowledge of individual patients'/residents' histories, current progress, and treatment goals

Make appropriate nursing decisions when assessing patients/residents

Comply with established medication policies and procedures

Effectively operate and troubleshoot commonly utilized equipment

Complete all required documentation in a timely manner

Receive telephones orders from the mid-level Practitioner and complete orders per established policies and procedures

Reassess patients per established policies and procedures to identify progress and trends that require intervention or reporting to the Mid-Level Practitioner

Demonstrate ability to perform basic drug calculations

Participate in rounds when appropriate

Accept patient assignments as directed by Charge Nurse or Director of Patient Services

Coordinate care with ancillary clinical departments to provide optimal patient care

Coordinate and oversee care delivered by LSA's

Ensure patient weights are performed and documented for patients as ordered

Enhance professional growth by attending seminars or further educational opportunities

Actively seek out opportunities for professional advancement

Participate in the orientation of new employees

Possess the ability to recognize changes in patient status and ensures implementation of appropriate interventions

Verbalize the Licensed Vocational Nurse role in patient emergency situations and cardiopulmonary arrest

Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

Licensed Vocational Nurse in the State in which providing care

Preferred minimum of at least one (1) year experience in acute/post-acute hospital setting

Maintain current licensure as a Licensed Vocational Nurse in the State in which performing duties

Maintain current certification in good standing during employment

Attend aggressive behavioral management training as required by the facility

Certified AHA BLS/CPR
