About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Media Communications Specialist to join our team at DCG Communications. This is a hybrid role with a strong preference for candidates located within the Washington, DC Metro area.

Job Description

This senior-level position requires a demonstrated ability to develop and execute proactive media campaigns, cultivate relationships with journalists and media outlets, respond to media inquiries, and coordinate interviews with agency leadership. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to draft press releases, talking points, speeches, and other communications materials, ensuring consistency with the agency's messaging.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute strategic media relations plans to enhance the agency's public image and ensure accurate dissemination of key information.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with journalists and media outlets to secure positive media coverage and amplify agency priorities.
  • Respond to media inquiries, coordinate interviews with agency leadership, and provide timely and accurate messaging during emergencies or critical incidents.
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Communications or a related field, with a minimum of four years of relevant professional experience supporting corporate communications and/or public relations functions. They should also possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities in high-pressure scenarios.
