About the Position

Lake Washington Institute of Technology is seeking a qualified adjunct faculty member to teach in the Dental Assistant program. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction to students in both didactic and clinical settings.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and teach courses in the Dental Assistant program, including didactic and clinical components.
  • Identify individual learning needs of students and make appropriate adjustments to instruction.
  • Develop and teach lessons that foster and support cultural diversity and non-discrimination.
  • Teach productive and constructive study skills to students.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and meet college requirements.
  • Follow disciplinary procedures as prescribed and deal consistently and fairly with all students.
  • Design learning experiences for the unique characteristics of individual adult students through classes, individual instruction, and self-directed learning.
Qualifications
  • Associate degree or higher in a related field.
  • Washington RDA and CPR for the Healthcare Provider certifications, as well as annual Bloodborne pathogens training.
  • 5 years of related work experience.
  • College teaching experience preferred.
  • Industry certifications preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Previous experience with an online course system (e.g., Canvas, Blackboard, Sakai, Moodle) preferred.
  • Sensitivity and ability to successfully interact with diverse populations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
