Position Overview

This role is centered on guaranteeing that our members receive the highest level of service while enjoying our dining facilities. The main responsibility involves providing attentive, friendly, and efficient service to members and their guests within designated sections. Prior experience in a serving role, strong interpersonal abilities, the capacity to perform well under pressure, and a basic understanding of culinary terminology are essential requirements. Servers are expected to be professional, detail-oriented, and courteous; they must be capable of managing moderate physical tasks and flexible scheduling, including weekends, holidays, and special events as required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive and process food and beverage orders, transport trays, and serve meals and drinks. Maintain cleanliness by clearing and sanitizing tables.
  • Assist with light food preparation, demonstrating familiarity with basic culinary terms and techniques.
  • Prepare takeout orders and package menu items appropriately.
  • Set up and prepare workstations for service.
  • Provide prompt attention to members and their guests upon seating.
  • Distribute menus and wine lists, showcasing knowledge of food and wine pairings.
  • Pour and replenish beverages, including wine, coffee, and water, throughout the meal.
  • Ensure cleanliness in all assigned areas, both front and back of the house.
  • Report any member or guest complaints to a supervisor immediately.
  • Assist with closing duties, including removing linens and clearing glassware, dishes, and utensils.
  • Adhere to all state and local regulations, as well as club policies regarding the service of alcoholic beverages.
  • Consistently comply with sanitation standards, particularly those related to personal hygiene.
  • Communicate special cooking instructions to kitchen staff and place orders accordingly.
  • Input orders into the point-of-sale (POS) system and present bills to guests.
  • Perform cleanup and closing tasks as needed.
  • Support special events as required.
  • Participate in training of other food and beverage personnel as necessary.
  • Attend staff meetings, including pre-service briefings and training sessions.
  • Maintain a professional appearance in accordance with uniform and dress standards.
  • Carry out other related duties as assigned by management.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to reach, push, pull, bend, and stoop; capable of performing repetitive motions such as walking, standing, kneeling, and crouching; excellent hand-eye coordination is essential.
  • Must be able to lift and carry trays weighing up to 30 pounds and stand for extended periods.
  • Effective communication skills in English, both spoken and auditory.
  • Good close and distance vision; ability to identify and differentiate colors.
  • Frequent walking with occasional standing; may involve long distances.
  • Regularly lift/carry up to 25 lbs; occasionally lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Consistent use of manual dexterity and gross motor skills, with frequent use of both fine and bi-manual dexterity.
  • Ability to reach hands and arms in various directions and kneel or stoop repeatedly.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Must meet the minimum age requirement for this position; the legal age to serve alcohol in the state is 18 years.
  • Three to six months of experience in customer service or related training; or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Must obtain and maintain current certifications in: ANSI Florida Food Handler and Florida Responsible Vendor Server Training within 90 days of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of experience in a full-service restaurant or hospitality environment.
  • Experience in a fine dining or upscale restaurant setting.
