Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a summer intern in mine engineering. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience and develop skills in a dynamic and innovative environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct geographical exploration by reviewing maps and drilling logs to determine location, size, accessibility, and estimated volumes of deposits.
  • Assist in determining long-range planning designs and data.
  • Identify and respond to safety hazards.
  • Adhere to state and federal regulations, including those set forth by the US Department of Transportation, Occupational Safety and Health Administration, Mine Safety and Health Administration, and other regulatory agencies.
  • Operate sUAV for mine planning, topography mapping, and stripping calculations.
  • Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities.
  • Assist with field operations for aggregates.
  • Work with operations personnel to develop monthly projections.
  • Shadow operations personnel to learn operational planning and aggregate objectives.
  • Collaborate with crews and managers on blasting operations.
Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in a college degree program related to the industry and maintaining a minimum GPA of 2.75 or better.
  • Pass a pre-employment physical, drug screen, and criminal background check.
  • Maintain a current driver's license that meets state requirements.
  • Obtain MSHA New Miner Training and FAA Part 107 Certification for sUAV Operator.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • High ethical standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective use of the internet for research and evaluation.
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
