G.Future Program
G.Future is a 12-month program that utilizes on-the-job learning, classroom training, coaching, and ongoing mentorship from various leaders to shape the G.Futures into our future managerial and technical leaders. The program includes:
- Solving large- and small-scale problems, such as creating mechanical components/assembly drawings, proposing business methods to optimize product output, and redirecting process prioritization to improve current production standards.
- Working as a leader managing the strategic implementation for overall business goals.
- A Mentorship Program, a unique feature designed to help participants build a successful career, with a seasoned professional within the company who will facilitate integration with Gerdau, help understand Gerdau's values and business culture, and streamline training by providing technical knowledge and business vision.
- Visiting customers and suppliers to gain in-depth knowledge of our business from beginning to end.
- Gaining a holistic view and acumen of the industry by working with each level of Gerdau North America and traveling to various destinations throughout the US and Canada.
- Interacting with other G.Futures from across North America while tackling some of the organization's biggest challenges.
- Growing a set of managerial, interpersonal, analytical, and technical skills.
- Working with software such as AutoCad, AutoCAd Inventor, SAP, PLEX, and Excel.
Requirements
To be eligible for the G.Future program, candidates must:
- Hold a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Industrial Engineering, Material Sciences/Metallurgy, or other applicable degree.
- Be a recent college graduate within the last two years, having recently completed or be in the process of completing their degree before the program starts.
- Have a record of high academic achievement (Minimum GPA 3.0, preferred GPA 3.5 or higher).
- Preference for those with degree-related internship experience.
- Be well-rounded applicants with leadership roles in student organizations or extra-curricular activities.
- Have a high learning agility and willingness to adapt and develop continuously.
- Be legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring current or future sponsorship for employment.
- Be able to travel to various locations within the United States and Canada during the length of the program.
