Summary: The Retail Operations Supervisor plays a crucial role in assisting with the implementation of operational strategies that enhance the overall effectiveness of the store. This position emphasizes revenue enhancement, profitability improvement, superior presentation standards, outstanding customer service, safety, and security, while maintaining high standards for employee recruitment, retention, and performance, positioning Stein Garden Centers, Inc. as a leading garden and home center.
Key Responsibilities:
- Foster a workplace culture that embodies and passionately supports the organization's vision, mission, and values.
- Collaborate with the Store Manager to achieve optimal financial outcomes by consistently surpassing customer expectations and maintaining operational excellence.
- Gain a comprehensive understanding of the store's financial objectives, budget, and company initiatives, ensuring alignment with the organization's vision and values.
- Implement all merchandising and marketing strategies effectively, ensuring timely execution and providing accurate feedback.
- Monitor daily store performance, review key performance indicators with the Store Manager, and work together to identify successes and opportunities for improvement.
- Oversee store processes including inventory management, staff scheduling, customer service, and housekeeping, while driving process enhancements.
- Ensure timely communication and implementation of company initiatives, objectives, and policies.
- Promote a culture of open communication among staff to enhance morale, encourage creative ideas, and resolve conflicts effectively.
- Adhere to all compliance and regulatory requirements related to hiring, benefits, labor laws, and reporting.
- Lead safety and security initiatives to maintain a safe environment for customers and employees.
- Report any deficiencies in property, equipment, or fixtures to the Store Manager to develop improvement plans.
- Manage staffing levels, associate development, and succession planning while upholding the company's values.
- Protect company assets, including physical structures, vehicles, equipment, inventory, and financial resources.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; supervisory experience is preferred.
- General understanding of retail metrics and consumer trends.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build effective relationships with store personnel, vendors, and corporate leadership.
- Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office and inventory management software.
- Excellent collaborative, motivational, and communication skills.
- Ability to influence through analytical skills and experience in leading teams to achieve results.
- Demonstrated capability to lead and develop associates through effective coaching.
- Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects efficiently while ensuring a superior customer experience.
- Willingness to support other store locations as needed.
