Position Overview

First State Bank of St. Charles is in search of a Funds Transfer Coordinator. This role is ideal for individuals with a solid background in standard accounting practices and administrative functions.

Key Responsibilities:

The Funds Transfer Coordinator will execute all responsibilities associated with this role by adhering to the policies and procedures established by First State Bank of St. Charles, which include, but are not limited to:

  • Overseeing the input, validation, and authorization of both one-time and recurring domestic and international wire transfers through various online banking systems, or manually when necessary, including but not limited to:
    1. Processing incoming wire transfers upon receipt, ensuring accurate posting to the relevant general ledger or customer account.
    2. Monitoring pending wire transfer lists to guarantee timely verification of input wires.
    3. Scrutinizing wire transfers for potential fraudulent activities, identifying and investigating any suspicious transactions. Alert the Compliance Department regarding any questionable activities and coordinate necessary Compliance approvals for any filed OFAC wire transfers.
    4. Establishing customer and/or internal notifications for incoming and outgoing wire transfers within the wire transfer platform via email, fax, or physical notice.
    5. Maintaining and reviewing wire logs and properly executed wire documentation to comply with bank policies and audit standards.
    6. Assessing fees associated with incoming and outgoing wire transfers, as well as any waived fees as directed by management.
    7. Managing end-of-day wire processing for file submission to the Core Processor, ensuring all tasks are completed by daily processing deadlines.
    8. Overseeing the WireXchange system and assisting in the implementation of necessary changes.
  • Monitoring the bank's cash position at the Federal Reserve and other correspondent accounts daily to ensure sufficient funds are available for daily operations, notifying management if borrowing is required.
  • Placing cash orders with the Federal Reserve.
  • Providing support for all examiner/audit inquiries related to wire transfers, coordinating the compilation of wire transfer audit requests with branches and other departments as necessary.
  • Conducting annual disaster recovery testing on wire transfers, utilizing various backup methods for transmitting wire transfers in emergency situations and documenting the outcomes.
  • Cross-training in other accounting functions.
  • Completing all mandatory compliance training and adhering to the Bank Secrecy Act and Anti-Money Laundering Act, along with all applicable regulations within the scope of the position.

Qualifications:

  • A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
  • An Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration with a focus on Accounting or Finance is preferred.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience in wire transfer processing is required.
