Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the front-of-house ticketing system efficiently.
- Process cash and credit card transactions, issuing valid tickets to patrons.
- Propose ticket packages and additional offerings to enhance guest experiences.
- Handle third-party vouchers and passes with accuracy.
- Verify opening cash banks, manage transactions, and prepare end-of-day financial reports.
- Deliver outstanding customer service by engaging with guests, addressing inquiries, and resolving issues, escalating to supervisors when necessary.
- Proactively initiate conversations with guests, utilizing personalized engagement techniques to create memorable experiences.
- Stay informed about daily museum exhibits, programs, membership benefits, and operational updates.
- Effectively communicate museum policies and suggest itineraries tailored to visitor interests.
- Provide informative insights about the museum's collections, including historical context and points of interest.
- Articulate the mission and vision of the museum to enhance guest understanding.
- Guide guests through designated areas, ensuring smooth traffic flow.
- Manage crowd control measures as required.
- Prioritize the safety and well-being of all museum visitors.
- Maintain cleanliness in assigned areas, reporting any additional cleaning needs.
- Collaborate with volunteers, educators, and museum staff to optimize visitor experiences.
- Participate in regular training sessions to stay updated on best practices.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate should possess a high school diploma or GED, with at least one year of relevant customer service experience in ticketing, crowd management, admissions, or interpretation, preferably within a museum or attraction setting. Experience in cash handling is essential. Candidates should demonstrate strong public speaking skills, the ability to convey information clearly, and sound judgment in resolving guest concerns independently. Attention to detail, organizational skills, and the capacity to adapt to changing policies are vital. Flexibility in scheduling, including availability for holidays, evenings, and weekends, is required. Proficiency in multiple languages is advantageous.
