SUPERVISION:
Principal/Director of Food Service/Cafeteria Manager

OBJECTIVE:
To prepare and serve appealing and nutritious meals for students and staff in a hygienic and welcoming environment.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

Prepare, cook, bake, and serve a diverse range of foods in large quantities at a designated school location; assist with other food preparation tasks as assigned; ensure facilities are maintained in a clean and sanitary condition; train and guide others in their duties.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Uphold the highest standards of safety and cleanliness in the kitchen.

Prepare meals according to a structured and tested menu, utilizing uniform recipes, and assess the quality of the finished product in terms of flavor and presentation before serving.

Inspect food deliveries received at the school, signing off on invoices only after confirming each order.

Assist the manager in maintaining accurate monthly inventory records.

Consult with the manager and, if necessary, the Director of Food and Nutrition Service, regarding any personnel issues or incidents occurring in the kitchen or cafeteria.

Oversee the daily sanitation of all kitchen equipment, as well as the washing and sterilization of all dishes, silverware, and utensils.

Prepare and bake food for special occasions as required; assist at banquets or special events across the District as directed by the supervisor.

Provide assistance at any cafeteria across the District when necessary.

Engage in staff development and training sessions as directed.

Lift and/or transport food supplies and small equipment. Additional physical tasks may include moving tables and chairs.

Carry out other tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Principal, Director of Food Service, or the Superintendent.


DURATION OF EMPLOYMENT:
Salary and workdays/jobs to be determined by the Board.

PERFORMANCE REVIEW:

The performance of this role will be assessed in accordance with the Board's policy on Evaluation of Classified Personnel.
