Position Overview:

Join our dedicated team in a specialized 20-bed unit focused on Heart Failure and Cardiac Telemetry, where we provide exceptional care for patients dealing with both new and chronic heart failure conditions.

Heart failure is a long-term health issue, often leading to multiple hospitalizations throughout a patient's life. Many individuals with heart failure also face additional chronic health challenges, including hypertension, diabetes, respiratory issues, and obesity.

Work Schedule:

This is a full-time position (0.9 FTE), requiring 36 hours per week on the day shift (7am-7pm), with every third weekend and rotating holidays.


Role Summary:

The Clinical Nurse 1 New to Practice/Apprentice is an entry-level registered nurse or one with less than 15 months of experience, who is eager to develop their skills in a supportive environment. This role emphasizes safe practice within our professional framework.

The Clinical Nurse 1 will seek mentorship to integrate essential concepts, knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary for competent nursing practice. This position reflects our organization's commitment to excellence and is embedded in various competency domains.

The nurse will be responsible for providing direct care to patients across the lifespan, demonstrating competencies in Continuous Quality Improvement, Evidence-Based Practice, Leadership, Person and Family-Centered Care, Professionalism, Safety, Teamwork, and Technology/Informatics.

Collaboration with an interprofessional healthcare team is crucial to ensure coordinated care throughout the patient's journey.

  • Continuously enhance the quality and effectiveness of nursing practices.

Additional Responsibilities:

In addition to primary duties, the role includes:

  • Managing rapidly changing situations while coordinating with appropriate team members.
  • Participating in process improvement initiatives to enhance patient-nurse relationships.
  • Completing mandatory training focused on age-specific needs and interpersonal skills.
  • Maintaining a safe working environment through adherence to established policies.
  • Seeking opportunities for professional development and mentoring peers.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications include:

  • Current RN Licensure issued by the relevant nursing board.
  • Successful completion of the Nurse Residency Program.
  • CPR Certification from a recognized provider.
  • Good standing with Medicare, Medicaid, and other health insurance programs.

Preferred Qualifications:

While not mandatory, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) is preferred, especially for positions designated as Magnet.
