The Centralized Monitoring Registered Nurse plays a critical role in overseeing telemetry orders and ensuring the necessity for ongoing monitoring. This position is vital for the early detection of sepsis and the implementation of the sepsis bundle to promote positive patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
The Centralized Monitoring RN collaborates with monitor technicians and various units to guarantee a secure patient experience while addressing all cardiac requirements as they relate to personalized care plans.
Core Duties Include:
- Assuming responsibility and accountability in accordance with the standards set forth by the American Nurses Association.
- Demonstrating safe nursing practices within the organizational framework.
- Providing patient care through the application of the nursing process and accepting accountability for the care of assigned patients across all age groups.
- Engaging in continuous quality improvement and evidence-based practice to enhance patient care.
- Working closely with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure coordinated care throughout the continuum.
- Expanding knowledge and skills to deliver individualized care based on comprehensive assessments.
Essential Qualifications
To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:
- Current RN licensure issued by the PA Board of Nursing.
- A Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or a higher nursing degree.
- Completion of a Nurse Residency Program or a minimum of 15 months of nursing practice.
- Current CPR Certification from the American Heart Association.
- ACLS Certification.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in oncology or radiation oncology and certification within two years of hire is desirable.
Work Environment
This position is part-time, requiring night shifts and rotating weekends and holidays. The role offers a sign-on bonus for eligible external applicants, reflecting Lancaster General Health's commitment to attracting skilled nursing professionals.
