About the Position

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to serve as a tutor and mentor for student-athletes at James Madison University. The successful candidate will provide academic support and guidance to student-athletes, helping them to achieve academic success and maintain eligibility for competition.

Responsibilities
  • Meet with student-athletes to provide individualized academic support and guidance
  • Assist student-athletes in understanding course material and developing study strategies
  • Complete meeting reports and timesheets as required
  • Work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate student-athlete schedules
Requirements
  • Overall GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • B+ or higher in courses to be tutored
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work with diverse student-athlete populations
  • Knowledge of NCAA and University Honor Code guidelines
Working Conditions

This is a part-time position, approximately 1-2 hours per week, with flexible scheduling to accommodate student-athlete needs. The successful candidate will be required to complete an I-9 form and present documentation of their identity and eligibility to work in the United States.
