Job Overview

We are seeking a charismatic and energetic Piano and Voice Instructor to join our team at Twelve Tone Music School.

As an instructor, you will play a vital role in building, inspiring, and cultivating a student's love for music, transforming it into a lifelong passion.

We offer:

  • Part Time teaching schedule (2-3 weekdays + 1 weekend day)
  • $24-$30 per hour

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A background in music with the ability to play piano up to intermediate/advanced level and voice up to intermediate/advanced level.
  • Some formal music training required; higher degree in music, education and/or performing arts a plus.
  • Experience teaching both private and group classes.
  • Ability to follow a prewritten curriculum and work with the Program Director on changes and adaptations to ensure the success and motivation of our students.
  • Experience or familiarity with music technology, including hooking up and connecting keyboards and microphones to digital devices or learning programs to help run classes and events.
  • Ability to teach a class of up to 4 students.
  • Ability to arrange music.
  • Work with the school's directors to prepare students for showcases and events.
  • Willing and able to work a number of student showcases and events throughout the year.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all Twelve Tone Music School students, staff, and parents.
  • Able to motivate students and encourage progress while ensuring a friendly and outgoing creative environment.
  • Enjoys being around children in a fun, personable, and outgoing atmosphere while nurturing creative growth.
  • Must pass a background check.
  • Ability, at times, to lift up to 50 lbs.
