Clinical Therapist

Cayuga Centers is seeking a skilled Clinical Therapist to join our team. As a Clinical Therapist, you will provide individual and family therapy within a trauma-informed, socioecological approach to behavioral health.
Key Responsibilities- Provide individual and family therapy sessions, including at least two family therapy sessions monthly with youth and/or foster family.
- Carry a caseload of up to 25 youth, ages range from 0-21 years.
- Write progress notes within three business days of the session and one monthly progress note entered into the EHR system.
- Complete Initial Mental Health Assessment within 30 days of admission to foster care and annually.
- Lead initial Treatment Team Meeting and quarterly meetings for youth who are considered therapeutic level, bi-annually for youth who are not considered therapeutic level, and monthly for youth labeled “high risk”.
- Collaborate with case planners on creating court reports.
- Provide therapy during traditional and non-traditional hours, including weekends and evenings.
- Participate in 24-hour on-call phone availability for program youth and foster parents.
- Attend weekly clinical team meetings, staffing meetings, and group therapy sessions.
- Provide record keeping and documentation for all clinical activities.
- Master's Degree in Social Work, Mental Health, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Creative Arts Therapy.
- License in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or Marriage and Family Therapy, or Creative Arts Therapy, or a limited permit in one of the above.
- Experience working with children and families in a community-based or “in-home” setting.
- Experience with the foster care system, specifically with foster parents and youth, preferred.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and collaboration skills.
- A strong belief in the capacity of people to grow and change.
- Possess the knowledge, skills, and attitude needed to appreciate and encourage diversity and understand the concept of cultural trauma as it applies to individual and family functioning.
