About the Role

Ombudsman Educational Services, a leading provider of alternative education programs, is seeking an experienced English Teacher to join our team. As an instructional leader, you will play a critical role in increasing student achievement and ensuring the implementation of effective instructional practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality instruction using curriculum materials and educational software
  • Develop and implement daily lesson plans and classroom schedules that meet state and school requirements
  • Collaborate with special education teachers and support staff to provide instructional support and approved modifications to the curriculum
  • Implement standards for student behavior to ensure a safe and effective learning environment
  • Maintain regular contact with students' parents/guardians to inform them of student progress and any changes or situations that may affect school performance
  • Participate in team meetings to address specific student and parent concerns
  • Assess student progress through consistent review of classroom data collection and recording systems
  • Stay up-to-date with research-based practices and developments in the subject area
  • Respond constructively to formal and informal feedback
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in education or a closely related field
  • Meet all state teaching certification and/or licensing requirements
  • Current Arizona state fingerprint card
  • Prior experience working with curriculum development, differentiation, and instruction in an education and/or classroom setting
  • Highly skilled in working with staff and students with diverse needs at various levels
  • Prior experience working with students in an alternative education program setting preferred
  • Prior experience in relevant grade level and/or subject matter
  • Proficiency in providing motivation and having critical conversations with students to help them achieve realistic goals and next steps
  • Advanced oral and written communication, organization, conflict resolution, multitasking, problem-solving, and decision-making ability
  • Proven ability to effectively prioritize tasks and meet deadlines while maintaining organization and attention to detail
  • Knowledge of relevant technology, including experience with instructional technology, computers, Microsoft Office Suite, database entry, and basic office equipment
