Cardiac Nuclear Medicine Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team at UNC Health Care. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging team, you will be responsible for performing diagnostic procedures in the field of Nuclear Medicine in an outpatient setting.
Key Responsibilities- Administer radiopharmaceuticals to patients, ensuring accurate dosing and documentation.
- Evaluate requisitions, charts, and lab results to identify patient needs and arrange for pregnancy testing as necessary.
- Handle radiopharmaceuticals, following guidelines set by the Radiation Safety Office and NRC.
- Set up acquisition and perform imaging procedures according to protocol, maintaining patient comfort and safety.
- Analyze images and evaluate for correctness, processing films and submitting to physicians for approval.
- Use RIS, CIS, SMS, and PACS systems to generate proper documentation and complete RIS orders with accurate charges.
Graduation from an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program is required. Registration as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist by the American Registry of Radiological Sciences or registry eligibility with registration within one year of hire is also required. Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification is necessary.
