Job Title: Investment Banking Managing Director

About Our Client:

Our client is a leading national investment banking and wealth management organization dedicated to prioritizing client interests. Their investment banking division specializes in middle market M&A primarily in the consumer, services, and industrial sectors and operates from a central location with a strong presence across the United States.

Job Summary:

We are currently seeking a Managing Director for their M&A group. The ideal candidate will be responsible for originating and executing M&A transactions, with flexible location options available for the right individual.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transaction Origination: Lead efforts to identify and pursue new M&A opportunities, leveraging industry connections and market insights.
  • Deal Execution Oversight: Manage the complete deal process, including preparation of marketing materials and conducting due diligence, ensuring seamless execution and client satisfaction.
  • Relationship Development: Build and maintain strong relationships with business owners and deal referral sources, fostering a network of trusted partners.
  • Mentorship: Guide and mentor junior bankers, supporting their professional growth and development within the organization.
  • Recruitment Assistance: Help in recruiting both senior and junior bankers to enhance our team's capabilities and expertise.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree required; MBA is strongly preferred, demonstrating a strong foundation in business and finance.
  • Experience: Significant M&A experience at a middle market, boutique, regional, or bulge bracket investment bank, with a proven track record of sourcing and completing multiple middle market M&A transactions over the past 3-5 years. Ideally, have a $1mm - $3mm book of business coming in.
  • Client Relationship Management: Ability to establish and maintain effective client relationships, ensuring long-term partnerships and growth.
  • Team Leadership: Experience managing junior bankers and overseeing M&A processes, demonstrating strong leadership and project management skills.
  • Entrepreneurial Spirit: Comfortable working in a dynamic, entrepreneurial environment, with a willingness to adapt and innovate.
  • Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities, with a strong focus on clear and concise messaging.
  • Financial Knowledge: Strong understanding of accounting and finance principles, with the ability to analyze complex financial data and make informed decisions.
