Job Description

Indiana Youth Institute (IYI) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join its leadership team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the overall financial strategy and management of the organization, overseeing all fiscal and fiduciary responsibilities, and ensuring the accurate and timely implementation and accounting of the Foundation's finances and investment policies and procedures.

The CFO will work closely with the President and CEO, as well as other members of the leadership team, to develop and implement financial plans, manage cash flow, and optimize the handling of banking relationships. The CFO will also oversee the relationship with IYI's investment advisor, work closely with the President and CEO to ensure Board mandates are appropriately reflected in the Foundation's portfolio, and assess and evaluate the financial implications of new initiatives.

The CFO will be responsible for maintaining internal control safeguards, coordinating all audit activities, and overseeing the month-end closing process. The CFO will also review month-end account analyses and reconciliations, ensure organizational compliance with relevant laws and tax obligations, and manage organizational risks and liabilities.

The ideal candidate will have at least 15 years of progressively responsible experience in a senior financial-management role, with experience in a nonprofit environment. The candidate should have a Bachelor's degree in Business, Management, or Finance, and a Master's degree and/or CPA is preferred. The candidate should also have excellent leadership skills, with experience collaborating in a multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic team.

The CFO will be responsible for leading by influence, establishing credibility, and being decisive in support of the organization's mission, priorities, and commitments. The candidate should have exceptional qualities of integrity, credibility, and professionalism, as well as excellent written and oral communication skills.

The salary range for this position is $105,000 to $160,000, and the final offer will consider multiple factors, including education, experience, internal equity, and other organizational needs. IYI offers a comprehensive benefits plan, covering the majority of the employee premium for the base medical plan and offering other benefits including dental and vision plans, disability, life insurance, generous vacation time, professional development, and a 403(b) plan.

We are a remote-first organization, meeting in person for mission-critical events and projects. Although employees are located across Indiana, we maintain Eastern Standard Time office hours. To maintain safety, anyone visiting the office must upload vaccination proof and be comfortable with testing protocols.
