Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Safety and Health Manager to join our team at Forgen. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a strong background in safety management and a passion for creating a safe work environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the implementation and administration of our safety and health program, including conducting audits, developing health and safety plans, and supervising safety and health supervisors/technicians. They will also be responsible for communicating information, leading, coaching, and training all levels of employees in safety and health compliance, policies, and best practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the implementation and administration of our safety and health program
  • Conduct audits and develop health and safety plans
  • Supervise safety and health supervisors/technicians
  • Communicate information, lead, coach, and train employees in safety and health compliance, policies, and best practices
  • Identify safety training opportunities and program gaps and develop plans to meet such needs
  • Create and implement effective safety and health policies as needed
  • Deliver training, mentoring, and coaching to project teams and the safety and health team
  • Work closely with project operations teams to develop practices that support safety and health initiatives
  • Evaluate all field operations, including emergency response procedures, for improvement in safety and health and risk control effectiveness
  • Provide statistical data and safety and health performance narratives to leadership
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in a safety, engineering, construction, or related discipline
  • BCSP designation (e.g., CSP, CHST, STS)
  • Minimum of five plus years of experience managing safety programs in civil, environmental, or general construction companies or similar high-end safety program backgrounds
  • Valid driver's license and ability to drive on behalf of company business
  • Preferred safety training includes 40-Hour HAZWOPER Training, Competent Person Safety Training, 8-Hour Supervisory Training, OSHA 500 Certification, First Aid and CPR, and MSHA related courses
Working Conditions

The job is primarily performed indoors in a traditional office setting and occasionally outdoors at construction sites. The following environmental/atmospheric working conditions are commonly associated with the performance of this position: job site environment, including machines, tools, heavy equipment, chemicals, solvents, dust, and fumes; occasional exposure to extreme weather conditions; uneven ground.
