Position Overview


Join the Social, Cultural, and Constitutional Studies division at the American Enterprise Institute, where esteemed scholars engage in comprehensive research on political dynamics, public sentiment, demographic transformations, and media developments.

The selected intern will acquire invaluable experience in evaluating contemporary and historical political matters while enhancing their writing, editing, and analytical skills.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting research for opinion pieces and reports
  • Contributing to the production of the Ink Stained Wretches podcast
  • Editing and verifying content for accuracy
  • Assisting in the organization of both in-person and virtual events


The ideal candidate should possess an academic background in political science or a related discipline, exhibit strong research capabilities, and have editorial experience. A sense of curiosity and a proactive work ethic are essential.

Attention to detail and a solid understanding of current affairs, especially regarding legislative matters and executive actions, are vital for excelling in this role.

The department seeks a candidate who can actively participate as a valued member of the politics and public opinion team, offering meaningful insights on relevant topics.

Familiarity with statistical software such as R, Stata, and Tableau will be considered advantageous.
