Position Overview

Lighthouse Lab Services is seeking a dedicated Laboratory Operations Manager to oversee a team of phlebotomy and specimen processing professionals. This role is crucial in ensuring the efficient management of laboratory operations.

Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 9 AM - 5 PM

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruit, train, and evaluate departmental staff while directing workflow. Responsible for the education and development of team members, ensuring that departmental goals are met effectively.
  • Assist in the formulation of the departmental budget, aligning with established objectives and ensuring fiscal targets are achieved annually.
  • Ensure laboratory accreditation with relevant bodies such as the College of American Pathologists (CAP) and compliance with regulations from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA).
  • Lead process improvement initiatives by participating in task forces and councils, focusing on operational efficiency and quality patient care through methodologies like Six Sigma and Lean.
  • Act as a communication liaison, ensuring timely and accurate information flow to internal and external stakeholders regarding specimen management and testing inquiries.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • ASCP certification or equivalent
  • Minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role
  • At least 4 years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting
  • Bachelor's degree in biology or a related scientific field

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Hourly wage: $28 - $48
