Job Title: Managing Consultant, Environmental Contaminated Site Management

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Managing Consultant to join our Contaminated Site Management technical team in Seattle, Washington. As a key member of our team, you will provide project management and senior technical assistance on site investigation, remediation, and compliance projects for clients locally and nationally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and provide technical expertise on site investigation and remediation projects for various clients with complex technical and regulatory issues in the power, chemical, transportation, and manufacturing sectors.
  • Prepare remedial documents and reports, including feasibility studies, remedial and/or corrective action plans, remedial design documents, and remedial progress and completion reports.
  • Design and negotiate remedial solutions for contaminated soil and groundwater, utilizing innovative and emerging remedial treatment technologies as well as traditional systems.
  • Oversee multiple projects within client scope, budget, and schedule expectations, ensuring quality standards on project deliverables across ERM's Contaminated Site Management service line.
  • Delegate project assignments to project teams and manage and mentor junior staff.
  • Coordinate with ERM offices in the Americas, Asia-Pacific, and Europe regions on national and international project delivery.
  • Develop and expand client relationships that generate repeat business to grow the Contaminated Site Management service area in the western US.
  • Prepare technical proposals and participate in business development with existing clients and identified leads.
  • Build strong collaborative relationships with other ERM employees.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor or Master's Degree in environmental, civil, chemical, or mechanical engineering.
  • 4+ years of relevant experience working with significant industrial clients on complex site investigation/remediation projects under various state, federal, and international regulatory structures.
  • Business development experience for large programs/contracts and client relationships supported by repeat business, including established contacts in the Power, Transportation, Manufacturing, and/or Chemical industry clients.
  • Excellent writing, communication, strategic thinking, and 'people' skills.
  • Knowledge of the local regulatory climate, with proven negotiation skills with state and local regulators.
  • Recognized technical expertise by and established reputation in the local marketplace.
  • Ability to manage/mentor junior staff in project work, career development, and performance.

Preferred but Not Required:

  • 5+ years of relevant experience working with significant industrial clients on complex site investigation/remediation projects under various state, federal, and international regulatory structures.
  • Ability to draft and review SPCCs and SWPCP/SWPPPs.
  • Professional Certification in Washington (or ability to obtain professional license within one year).
  • Local candidates preferred.

Compensation and Benefits:

We offer a comprehensive package of benefits, including paid time off, paid parental leave, medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and AD&D insurance, 401(k) or RRSP/DPSP, and other benefits to eligible employees. The annual base pay for this position is $84,500– $120,749 USD, with an opportunity for an annual discretionary-based performance bonus.
