Job Overview

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the management of the quality testing laboratory, ensuring adherence to both internal and external standards, regulations, and accreditation requirements. This role includes:

  • Overseeing the operational efficiency of the laboratory, ensuring compliance with testing protocols and service level agreements.
  • Leading and mentoring laboratory personnel to foster a safe and productive work environment.
  • Implementing strategic resource planning for laboratory operations, considering both short-term and long-term needs.
  • Establishing and monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive operational excellence.
  • Facilitating staff training and development to enhance skills across various testing functions.
  • Collaborating with experts to innovate and refine testing methodologies.
  • Driving initiatives for a paperless laboratory environment, enhancing data management through advanced systems.
  • Ensuring effective communication and resolution of non-conformities in accordance with established protocols.
  • Promoting health, safety, and environmental practices within the laboratory.
Qualifications

Essential Knowledge:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or Engineering, with a preference for Quality Management System certification.

Essential Experience:

  • 5 to 7 years in seed production or quality testing roles, with at least 2-3 years in a leadership capacity.
  • Experience in managing laboratory operations and quality assurance processes.
  • Proven track record in project management across diverse teams and regions.

Essential Skills:

  • Familiarity with SAP and data management systems.
  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Proficient in time management and prioritization.
