Job Overview

At Syngenta, we recognize that every team member plays a vital role in ensuring global food security and environmental stewardship. The Production & Supply division is looking for a NA Seeds Business Improvement Lead, who will be based in the Midwest region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and direct strategically important initiatives utilizing Lean Six Sigma principles, collaborating with regional and functional stakeholders from inception to execution.
  • Act as a Lean Six Sigma authority, facilitating project delivery, coaching, mentoring, and training team members within the organization.
  • Adapt and refine projects dynamically, demonstrating the ability to navigate uncertainty to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Integrate change management strategies into project execution.
  • Deliver results: Identify and evaluate risks and evolving business requirements that may necessitate modifications in projects or processes to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Design enduring processes that foster innovation and promote ongoing improvement and efficiency.

Accountabilities

  • Project Leadership: Spearhead prominent and intricate improvement projects, guiding teams to define, manage, implement, and sustain enhancements while ensuring timely and budget-compliant delivery. Collaborate with stakeholders to execute strategic initiatives, including project planning, charter development, stakeholder analysis, and user requirements in a creative and cooperative manner, primarily in a virtual setting (35%).
  • Lean Six Sigma Leadership: Provide coaching, mentoring, and training on Lean Six Sigma and continuous improvement methodologies. Educate employees, teams, and leaders at all organizational levels on applying improvement techniques and fostering a culture of enhancement (15%).
  • Collaborate with functional partners to manage productivity and Lean Six Sigma initiatives while driving process improvements (15%).
  • Facilitate change management initiatives tailored to regional and functional requirements (15%).
  • Promote a mindset focused on recognizing improvement benefits through favorable KPI shifts and understanding associated financial implications (10%).
  • Deliver results: Assess and identify risks and changing business needs that may necessitate adjustments in projects or processes to achieve excellence in delivery, with the ability to develop and adapt projects amidst uncertainty (10%).

Qualifications

Personal Attributes

  • Project Management: Lead Lean Six Sigma and strategically prioritized initiatives, engaging regional and functional stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Demonstrate insight in identifying core issues within complex business challenges with multiple contributing factors.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and training to team members within the organization.
  • Proactively prioritize tasks and objectives to ensure delivery excellence.
  • Utilize data and logical analysis to identify underlying issues.
  • Clearly articulate business goals based on an understanding of organizational capability and readiness for change.
  • Exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills, adept at tailoring communication to suit the audience and content requirements.
  • Effectively advocate for concepts and solutions to business leaders to drive organizational transformation.

Essential Experience and Education

  • Over 5 years of experience in business project/program management, applying project and program management methodologies in large and complex initiatives.
  • Green Belt or higher Lean Six Sigma certification and experience, with a focus on process improvement.
  • Data-driven decision-making skills, including strong analytical and planning capabilities.
  • Proven ability to develop, coach, and instruct others in structured problem-solving, project execution, and change management.

Preferred Experience

  • 2+ years as a Black Belt or Master Black Belt.
  • Trained in a change management methodology.
  • Experience in agriculture, manufacturing, or supply chain sectors.
