Position Title:
Business Systems Analyst V
Location: Remote

Role Summary:
The primary responsibility of this position is to assist in the evaluation and enhancement of requests across various first-party and third-party applications. This role emphasizes collaboration with business stakeholders to accurately define problem statements, requirements, and prioritization, translating these into clear and comprehensive technical specifications for engineering teams.

A typical business systems analyst is tasked with analyzing user needs, organizing user acceptance testing (UAT), providing status updates, gathering additional information as necessary, and managing the progress of multiple requests across diverse business and engineering partner groups.

This analyst will also contribute to long-term projects by collaborating with solution designers to create functional and business requirements documents (FRD & BRD), plan and facilitate UAT, and support post-implementation operations.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Consistent and timely communication of status updates, obstacles, and additional information required for processing enhancement requests.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date information in enhancement request tickets, which is crucial for success in this role.
  • Partnering with requestors to clearly articulate problem statements, success criteria, and the business priority of submitted requests.
  • Validating business justifications and impact statements provided by requestors, applying the enhancement impact scoring framework.
  • Organizing requirements and collaborating with business stakeholders, engineering partners, and team members to address follow-up inquiries from both engineering and business sides.
  • Quickly familiarizing oneself with various internal tools and applications, utilizing documentation, connecting with subject matter experts, and following information trails to obtain the most current data.
  • Applying sound design and system governance principles to refine and prioritize stakeholder-expressed requirements.
  • Learning, adhering to, and assisting in the refinement of enhancement request and project processes.
  • Managing escalations from stakeholders, balancing empathy with organizational priorities and engineering capacity.

Required Skills:
- Extensive experience in requirements gathering and definition.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently while managing time effectively.
- In-depth knowledge of solution design and business system governance.
- Familiarity with business applications and architecture.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Workday is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
- Experience with change control boards is beneficial but not essential.

Education/Experience:
A bachelor's degree in a technical discipline such as Management Information Systems or Computer Science (or equivalent experience) is preferred.
