About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Arborist Crew Leader - Foreman to join our team at Lewis Tree Service. As a key member of our crew, you will be responsible for leading a tight-knit team of arborists in providing exceptional tree trimming and removal services to our utility customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a Team of Arborists: Supervise and mentor a team of arborists to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to perform their duties safely and efficiently.
  • Interpret and Execute Work Orders: Interpret tree trimming, removal, and spraying orders initiated by General Foreman or customer representatives and execute them accordingly.
  • Plan and Layout Daily Work: Plan and layout daily work for the crew, considering factors such as time required to complete work, clean-up time, equipment availability, weather conditions, and customer permissions.
  • Perform Pre-Job Hazard Surveys: Conduct Pre-Job Hazard Surveys at each job site with all crew members and assign work tasks based on individual knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Operate Equipment and Tools: Operate and maintain all tools and equipment, including hand tools, chainsaws, chippers, and aerial lifts, to ensure safe and efficient work.
  • Ensure Safety and Quality: Safeguard employees and the public from hazards in and around the working area and enforce on-the-job safety practices to ensure high-quality work.
Requirements
  • Experience: Two years or more experience working as a Trimmer/Climber, working around utility lines.
  • Leadership Skills: Ability to lead people, including strong communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Trees: Knowledge of trees, including identification, growth habits, and correct arboriculture techniques for trimming, pruning, repairing, maintaining, and removing trees.
  • Physical Abilities: Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting a minimum of 50 lbs. to shoulder height or more, and operate two-handed equipment.
