Position Overview:
Kansas City University College of Dental Medicine is seeking a dedicated endodontist to join our faculty team as a full-time clinical educator.
The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in the formulation of didactic, pre-clinical, and clinical endodontic protocols, ensuring the integration of evidence-based practices into patient care while also fostering research and scholarly activities in the field of endodontics.
This faculty member will work collaboratively with dental Group Practice Leaders, Assistant Group Practice Leaders, simulation faculty, and clinical faculty to enhance the understanding and application of endodontics in patient treatment.
Key Responsibilities:
We are looking for candidates who are passionate about dentistry and eager to apply endodontic principles in both preclinical and clinical settings. Responsibilities include:
- Developing goals, objectives, and policies for the endodontic education program within the KCU College of Dental Medicine.
- Implementing and delivering the endodontic didactic curriculum, which includes pre-clinical materials, simulation, and laboratory exercises.
- Integrating evidence-based best practices into clinical patient care and guiding ongoing research in endodontic therapy.
- Ensuring the safe and effective delivery of endodontic care by dental students.
- Providing clinical endodontic treatment for patients as necessary.
- Serving as an advisor and mentor to dental students interested in advanced education in endodontics.
- Guiding dental student research in endodontics when applicable.
- Acting as a faculty advisor for community-based endodontic activities.
- Conducting assessments of students' pre-clinical and clinical performance in endodontic therapy.
- Performing additional duties as assigned by supervising faculty or the Dean.
Qualifications:
Applicants must possess:
- A D.D.S./D.M.D. degree.
- A certificate of completion from a CODA accredited Advanced Education Program in Endodontics.
- A current dental license in Missouri or eligibility for licensure in Missouri based on an active dental license from another U.S. state or Canada.
- Board certification or eligibility in Endodontics.
