Job Summary:

The CRC Cottage Therapist plays a vital role in providing individual and group therapy, as well as crisis counseling, to clients on their caseload. This position requires a strong therapeutic relationship and the ability to adapt interventions to meet the unique needs of each client.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the Cottage Supervisor to create and maintain a healthy culture in the cottage, promoting a balance of structure and nurture for clients.
  • Provide individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) modality.
  • Assess client needs and develop individualized treatment plans (ITPs) in collaboration with the treatment team.
  • Document client progress and maintain accurate records, including progress notes, behavior intervention plans, and discharge summaries.
  • Participate in referral team meetings and provide input on client suitability for the program.
  • Facilitate assessment for new intakes and engage clients in programming.
  • Available 24/7 to meet the needs of residents on-site or via interactive videoconferencing.
  • Provide lethality assessments and recommendations for care.
  • Collaborate with Shift Supervisors to implement treatment plans and monitor client progress.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in social work or counseling, with a strong preference for experience working with children from hard places.
  • License in social work (LSW) or counseling (LPC) required, with independent licensure (LISW, LPCC) preferred.
  • Four to ten years of related experience, with a strong preference for experience in a children's residential treatment facility.
  • Valid Ohio Driver's License and a driving record that allows for insurability on agency policy.
Physical Requirements:

This position requires frequent walking, sitting, talking, and hearing, as well as the ability to stand or walk for extended periods. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Regularly able to lift/move up to 50 pounds and maintain compliance with CCHO's requirements for using physical restraints.
