Job Summary

We're seeking a detail-oriented and self-directed Certified Weld Inspector to join our team. As a key member of our quality assurance team, you'll be responsible for ensuring product quality meets or exceeds standards, driving process standardization, and supporting continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct fit-up, in-process, and final inspections on small and large weldments to ensure conformity to company procedures and engineering standards.
  • Prepare quality documentation and reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
  • Communicate inspection results with team members and recommend necessary corrective actions.
  • Support development and revision of weld procedure qualification records (PQR) and specifications (WPS).
  • Develop quality plans for parts and products using quality tools.
  • Collaborate with team members to support development and implementation of new product and engineering designs, and manufacturing and training methods.
  • Comply with all safety regulations and make recommendations regarding safe working methods.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • 5 years of welding-based work experience with GMAW, GTAW, FCAW, and SMAW processes.
  • Experience with low and high alloy steels.
  • Familiarity with steel cutting and forming processes.
  • Strong knowledge of weld symbols, GD&T, and shop math.
  • Use of measuring equipment such as tape measures, calipers, and micrometers.
  • Use of hand and power tools, powered equipment such as forklifts, cranes, and lifts.
Education and Experience

A high school diploma or equivalent is required. A two-year degree in welding or manufacturing technology is preferred. Current Certified Weld Inspector certification from the American Welding Society is required, or willingness to acquire soon after starting.
