**About the Role**

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Geriatric Care Activity Coordinator to join our team at American Senior Communities. This is a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of our residents.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for planning and implementing engaging activities that cater to the diverse needs and interests of our geriatric population. This may include recruiting, training, and recognizing volunteers to enhance the activity program and promote resident participation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and lead various activities that promote physical, emotional, and cognitive well-being among residents.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure activities align with individual care plans and goals.
  • Foster partnerships with local community organizations to expand resources and opportunities for residents.
  • Maintain accurate records of resident engagement and activity participation.
  • Assist with the coordination of special events and celebrations that promote socialization and connection among residents.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with geriatric populations, preferably in an activity or recreation setting.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with residents, families, and staff.
  • Basic knowledge of adult learning principles and theories.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and circumstances.

Compensation:** $45,000 - $60,000 per year (based on experience)
